FAGD and MAGD are designations awarded by the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), FAGD stands for Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, and MAGD stands for Master of the Academy of General Dentistry.
Both FAGD and MAGD are considered prestigious awards within the dental profession. They indicate a dentist’s dedication to lifelong learning and a commitment to providing the highest quality of care to patients. Less than 6% of general dentists in the U.S. and Canada are AGD Fellows, and less than 2% are AGD Masters
These designations are earned through rigorous coursework and examinations beyond the standard dental degree, demonstrating a dentist’s dedication to providing high-quality care. At a minimum, dentists must complete 500 hours of continuing education and complete a board-like examination.
